National Women in Roofing (NWiR) has a full day of exciting and educational opportunities for attendees to its Fifth Annual NWiR Day on Jan.

30 in New Orleans.

Scheduled just before the 2022 International Roofing Expo, NWiR Day is a one-day conference where women professionals in the roofing industry can gather and learn about the latest strategies and tactics to grow their success. Attendees connect with professional and like-minded women from all facets of the roofing industry for a day of insight, inspiration and fun.

The day begins at 9 a.m. with plenty to do, starting with welcome remarks and an opening session as well as an annual meeting of the members. The keynote session will begin shortly after before attendees enjoy a variety of breakout sessions from 10:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including live demos, networking, tips on how to foster inclusion, how to start an NWiR Council and more. Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m.

At 4:45 p.m. is the awards ceremony and closing remarks, followed by a reception at 5:45 p.m.

In addition to the schedule of events, NWiR has coordinated optional events to attend on Jan. 31. These include a restorative yoga session led by Mandy McIntyre at 9 a.m., where no experience, flexibility or strength is required to enjoy a soothing class. From 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., a book club meeting will be held on “So You Want to Talk About Race” led by Rae July. It is open to all and reading the book is not required to participate. At noon is a Dutch treat brunch held at a local restaurant.

Attendees can also take part in a headshot station ran by a professional photographer, a TikTok station and a “Roofing is” video booth run by the NWiR recruitment committee.
